A SEMINAR:
The HPV Vaccine:
How do we ensure access?

Cervical cancer caused by the human papillomavirus (HPV) will kill an estimated 3,700 American women this year, according to the American Cancer Society. The FDA recently approved Gardasil®, the first vaccine for HPV and reportedly the most expensive vaccine ever sold in the US.

In this public seminar, speakers will discuss issues of access, including state mandation, economic feasibility, and parental consent. The seminar will provide speakers with 10 minutes to present their opinions followed by a moderated question and answer session.

Speakers will be:

Michelle D. Bernard
President
Independent Women’s Forum

Cynthia Dailard
Senior Public Policy Associate
Guttmacher Institute

Please note that this seminar is open to the public and is for educational purposes only; it is not connected to any National Academy project, report or committee. No report or summary will be produced from this seminar.
