Coordinator, Education Outreach      
Classification:  Full time, Regular
Dept/Div:  Botanical Society of America 
 
The Education Outreach Coordinator will primarily be
responsible for the efficient day-to-day operational
activities of education and outreach efforts,
including National Science Foundation-funded projects
with national scope. Activities include coordinating
the Planting Science online learning community and
assisting in the development and delivery of teacher
workshops. Duties include serving as point of contact
for project participants, preparing instructional
materials (print and web), managing information, and
coordinating recruitment for teacher programs. The
education and outreach coordinator will be expected to
work closely with BSA staff and stakeholders in
BSA-led education programs. 
 
Qualifications include a Bachelors degree in education
or science essential; Masters degree or equivalent
experience preferred and three year's experience in
science education, preferably secondary school;
demonstrated project coordination and strong
organizational skills; and excellent verbal, written
and interpersonal skills. Familiarity with plant
biology and communicating via new Internet Technology
media are helpful. Some travel and weekends required.
