Membership is up from last year but we are still looking to reach our goal of a 15% member increase, great reminder to all current members recruit new members. Also look for new electronic networking opportunities for members in the future.

4. The 2009 Nominations and elections time is coming. Natalia Melcer will chair the nominations and elections committee. This is a great opportunity for members to become involved. If you are interested in joining the 2009 nominations and elections committee please contact Natalia Melcer through the contact us link on the website.

Our next board meeting will be held on October 30th 2008. If you have any suggestions or ideas for topics to be discussed at the board meeting please contact Angela Grant, VP for Communications, through the Contact Us link on the website.

2. In review of the chapter 2007 goals, we are pleased to report many of the chapter’s 2007 goals were reached, including a membership increase above 15%, the expansion of our chapter’s web presence, and the continued existence and success of the programs committee.

3. In 2008, we will expand our goals to include an emphasis on
increasing networking opportunities for members, increasing input from members pre- and post-event, and increasing member involvement. The 2008 AWIS DC Chapter goals will be posted on the chapter website shortly.

4. The chapter constitution and bylaws were reviewed and will be
posted on the chapter website. The chapter bylaws give a great
description of the board members duties, if you are interested in
running for the board in future years.
