The Office of Behavioral and Social Sciences Research (OBSSR), a component of the National Institutes of Health (NIH), Department of Health and Human Services, is seeking a dynamic individual to serve as a Communications Specialist (Program Analyst) with a focus on health communication and outreach strategies.
This person will assist the OBSSR leadership in developing, implementing and coordinating the OBSSR’s strategic communications plan, which will target various audiences (e.g., the public, the scientific community, clinical and public health practitioners, etc.). Applicants will be evaluated on the extent to which they possess the knowledges, skills, and abilities llisted below: · Knowledge of health communication and health related behavioral and social science research. · Knowledge of the Congressional legislative and budgetary process. · Knowledge of extramural and intramural initiatives, policies and programs of the NIH, particularly in the area of behavioral and social sciences research. · Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with a variety of organizations, Federal, and non-Federal Representatives. · Skill in communicating orally and in writing policy and technical information orally to internal and external Agency audiences.
