Position Description: Title: Research Assistant Reports to: Program Officer Position Overview The company is in the business of building and maintaining collaborative networks among distributed groups of scientists and mental health practitioners through the use of web-based tools and content-focused services. We are looking for a research assistant to support company efforts to build and support virtual communities, networks, and collaborations in suicide prevention, disaster mental health, and substance use/abuse prevention. This position will provide the company with administrative support, be responsible for working to develop and flesh out written proposals, and will be an integral part of the company’s on-line training initiatives. Additional roles may include testing software, preparing monthly progress reports for funders, and attending meetings with clients and with contract officers. The Research Assistant will be involved in multiple projects. Responsibilities: · Work under the direction of the Program Officer(s) to establish specific projects as designated. · Provide needed assistance for any face-to-face or virtual meetings associated with the project(s). · Develop expertise and resources for each project. · Participate in external meetings and professional activities where relevant to project areas and interests of JGPerpich, LLC. · Participate in the development and production of new proposals. · Identify new business opportunities for the company Required: -Undergraduate Degree in Psychology, Neuroscience, or related-biomedical science plus some work experience. -High intellectual capacity that can be and has been applied to learning new areas of science and technology and related fields. -Strong interest in technology and how technology can be used to create social networks and virtual communities. -Strong oral and written communication skills that take into account the audience, as well as equally effective listening skills. -Willingness to take the initiative in a non-hierarchical organization. -Ability to be flexible, to maintain a good sense of humor and to keep a global perspective. -Demonstrated ability to work with scientists in a staff role and to work as an integral part of a growing, multi-talented team. Compensation includes base salary, profit sharing, and employee retirement plan. Applicants must be willing to work as a full-time employee in our Bethesda office.
