2010 AWIS Washington DC Metropolitan Chapter Goals

Goal 1: Engage chapter members in a variety of activities and professional development/ networking opportunities.
Objective 1a: Host at least 10 events per year and ideally 1 per month.
Objective 1b: Attract 30% of members to chapter events over the course of the year.
Objective 1c: Provide opportunities for members to serve on chapter committees and as volunteers for chapter events and special projects.
Objective 1d: Increase member utilization of the chapter’s electronic networking opportunities and discussion listserv.

Goal 2: Increase membership by 15%.
Objective 2a: Reach out to prospective members after chapter events.
Objective 2b: Share information about chapter events with current and prospective members following those events.
Objective 2c: Partner with groups, in addition to other AWIS chapters, to sponsor chapter events.
Objective 2d: Establish an outreach committee.
Objective 2e: Expand database of area contacts.

Goal 3: Formalize chapter procedures.
Objective 3a: Establish chapter archives and chapter history.
Objective 3b: Develop standard operating procedures for chapter functions, including maintenance of chapter records. 

2009 AWIS Washington DC Metropolitan Chapter Goals

Objective 1b: Customize and distribute AWIS national brochure.
Objective 1c:  Establish an Outreach Committee/Membership Task Force.

Goal 2: Increase networking opportunities.
Objective 2a: Provide opportunities for member involvement.
Objective 2b: Investigate electronic social networking opportunities.

Goal 3: Maintain regular communications with membership.
Objective 3a: Develop and maintain a member database.
Objective 3b: Send summaries of board meetings and notice of events to membership.  
Objective 3c: Obtain input from chapter members pre- and post-event.
   
Goal 4: Compile chapter records.
Objective 4a: Develop a protocol for maintaining records.

Goal 1: Increase membership by 15%.

Objective 1b: Update and print chapter brochure.
Objective 1c:  Establish an Outreach Committee/Membership Task Force.

Goal 2: Involve members in chapter activities.
Objective 2a: Continue the Program Committee.
Objective 2b: Obtain input from chapter members about activities.
Objective 2c:  Welcome new chapter members.

Goal 3: Update and expand web presence.
Objective 3a: Continue to identify new content for the chapter website.
Objective 3b: Submit chapter events to chapter webmaster and to the National website calendar.
Objective 3c: Move chapter website to National server.
